Young people both follow the trend and contemplate the love trend ‘S Line’

Zing Muse – As a movie that is causing a global “storm” with the image of red threads connecting people with intimate relationships in the past, S Line quickly became a phenomenon that made young people “buzz” with the trend.

The Korean movie S Line has created an unprecedented fever with its unique and bold content. The content of the movie revolves around the fact that each person has an invisible red string above their head, connecting them with all the people they have ever had intimate relationships with. S Line exposes the sensitive aspects of human life in a direct, haunting way.

Mysterious thread causes social media storm

The image of red threads is not only a metaphor but also creates a strong visual effect, easily spreading on social media platforms. Nguyen Minh Huong (20 years old, University of Law, VNU) shared: “I think the image of the ‘red thread’ in the movie is so hot because it is so strange and bold. The movie has a direct perspective, exposing those “hard to say things”. Moreover, for me personally, the image of the long ‘red thread’ also creates a very strong visual effect”.

Curiosity is one of the main factors driving the S Line “trend” wave. Ha Le Van Khanh (20 years old, Cau Giay, Hanoi) said: “I find the movie interesting because it uses the image of the ‘red thread’ as a prominent image throughout the movie.”

Sharing the same opinion, Phuong Linh, 21 years old, currently studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said: “I think the ‘red thread’ trend is hot because it comes with a very bold idea. This hits the curious psychology, is both sensational and controversial, so it easily attracts the community.”

Unique trend, viral across the internet

The influence of S Line lies not only in the content of the film but also in its ability to create “memes” and quickly cover social networking platforms. This says a lot about how young people today access information, interact with social networks and express themselves.

The rapid spread of the “red thread” trend on social networks shows the sensitivity of young people to strange and unique images. Nguyen Minh Huong expressed: “I think films like S Line are not only shocking, but also bring in-depth stories for discussion.”

Sharing the same thought with Minh Huong, Van Khanh pointed out that this trend is hot because it touches the FOMO (fear of missing out) psychology of the young people. Khanh expressed: “More importantly, it creates a very strong “meme”, anyone can make photos, add filters, very easy to spread”.

For Phuong Linh, she thinks that young people “catch the wave” very quickly because they live in a 24/7 social network environment. Linh further explained: “I think the trend-creating factor in movies is having an outstanding image or detail of the movie. With S Line, the bold, beautiful, shocking elements create the perfect combo to go viral”.

Reflections on modern love

However, the bold and somewhat unique idea of S Line has forced many young people to stop and think more deeply about the nature of love and social prejudice:

“If one day this ‘red thread’ becomes real, perhaps no one will dare to love easily anymore. This image raises the question: Does a person’s past define who they are in the present? When the past is exposed in such a tangible way, the judgment will become terrible. What will your current relationship be like when you have to see the ‘thread’ of the person you love connecting to another person every day?”

This idea also delves into the difference between physical connection and spiritual connection. Ngoc Quyen, 19 years old, Hanoi analyzed: “The movie makes me realize that society is equating love with physical intimacy. The ‘red thread’ only appears after having a relationship, but it does not show other connections in love such as understanding, sharing, sacrifice… “.

For many young people, S Line is a warning about responsibility in relationships. “It makes me rethink the concept of ‘flash love’. Every choice, every relationship, whether short or long, leaves a trace. If that trace becomes visible, will we be more careful? I think it will force people to live more responsibly with their own emotions and those of others,” said Thu Phuong, 24 years old, Hanoi.

There are also opinions that the “red thread” can be a test of tolerance in love: “Suppose you love someone with many ‘red threads’, what will you do? Leave because of prejudice or stay because your love is big enough to accept their past? After all, the thread only connects to the past, but the person holding your hand to the future is the most important,” Phuong concluded.

According to Master of Cultural Management Nguyen Kim Trong, currently working at Kinh Bac University, the S Line phenomenon from Korean movies has quickly attracted young people, reflecting their sensitivity to unique and bold trends on social networks. This “trend-following” does not stop at entertainment but also stimulates deep reflection on love and beauty standards. On the positive side, S Line brings a new breeze to aesthetic thinking, promoting the development of related industries. However, experts warn of negative consequences: pressure on appearance, the risk of aesthetic abuse, loss of personal identity and deviation in life values, when appearance is valued more than intelligence or personality.
