– Lindsey Langston — the current Miss United States (Miss United States 2024) — alleges that her ex-boyfriend sent her threatening messages, attempting to release intimate images and videos of her.
According to People, Lindsey filed a report with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on July 14. In her statement, she claims that her ex-boyfriend — Republican Congressman Cory Mills — repeatedly reached out to her after their breakup and threatened to distribute nude photos and “hot” videos of her out of jealousy.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office confirmed that her report has been forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The agency has yet to issue a comment.
In the investigation, Lindsey recounted that she began dating Mills in November 2021. During their relationship, she lived with him in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, while he split his time between there and Washington, D.C. She only realized he was still married when they began dating; Mills had assured her he was separated, prompting her to move in.
Reports say that on February 20, Lindsey discovered that Mills had reportedly gotten into an altercation with another woman in Washington. Though Mills denied the incident, Lindsey found photos on the woman’s social media that included him with this other woman. She then ended their relationship and moved back in with her parents.
Lindsey claims that Mills, feeling jealous, threatened to harm her and release intimate videos. She provided investigators with their last message exchange dated June 12, in which Mills wrote: “Hope you can keep your crown”.
Cory Mills reacted through CBS News, denying all allegations: “These claims are not accurate and do not reflect the nature of our interactions.” He emphasized that he has always conducted himself with integrity in both personal and professional contexts.
Lindsey Langston, born in 1999 and from Lake City, Florida, was crowned Miss United States in October 2024. Prior to that, she held titles such as Miss Florida United States 2024, USA National Miss Florida 2021, and Miss U.S. National Forestry 2023. She is also a local Republican committee member in Columbia County, Florida, and the author of a forthcoming children’s book titled Cultivating Kindness with Farmer Friend
